This looks exactly like the turntable motor from a microwave oven.
That could be why it doesn't care which way it turns. The speed is also the same as a turntable motor.

This is a great little motor: true that it will turn opposite direction with force applied to shaft, not a problem to me. But the construction of the shaft is not very versitle as it is very short and made of soft plastic making transition very difficult. These problems are serious enough for me to seek out a motor with a better shaft arrangement

This is a strong little motor with the interesting characteristic of reversing directions when it encounters too much resistance. Unfortunately, the shaft is made from a softer-than-expected material that strips easily.

A very quiet motor suits it for motorized decorative applications; it is quite strong and will put out quite a bit of force. My only quarrel with it is that it doesn't seem to care which direction it turns; every time you turn it on, it chooses almost randomly which direction it will turn. Fortunately, it will change direction when the spindle is stopped, so some sort of ratchet-like contrivance can be made that will assure that it turns in one direction.
