INFRARED WIRELESS ALERT SYSTEM
INFRARED WIRELESS ALERT SYSTEM
Larger Picture Available

Driveway Patrol - by TeleBrands™. Wireless alert system with Passive Infrared (PIR) motion detector lets you know when people, large animals or vehicles are approaching. No wiring required. Installs in seconds. Receiver sounds a two-tone chime when activated. Volume control with high and low setting.

Note: The manufacturer's packaging depicts this as an outdoor unit. Probably should be kept in a covered area. We're not sure how weatherproof this is. Would make a good indoor door announcer. The infrared unit requires a 9V battery. The receiver requires three C batteries, but can also be used with a 4.5Vdc (2.1mm coax plug, center positive) wall adaptor. Batteries and wall adaptor not included.

5 out of 5 stars drive alarm 01/01/2008
Reviewer: Nupine Enterprises   from Kentland Indiana
This is a excelent alarm to alert you to any type of personal security breach. I have one in my front area to alert me when ups comes for delivery or pick up. My office is on the secound floor, however, even with the camera system i would at times miss delivery or pick up. Since i have put this in place i never miss a delivery or pick up. the great advantage of this unit is its long range transmiting and portability of sending and receiving units. This unit is good for 400 feet between units. This is the best alarm of its type on the market. And for the price it can not be beat.

4 out of 5 stars ME AGAIN- Iwas misquoted 11/15/2007

I did not mean to discredit this product. I have owned three of them for a few years.I just wanted to point out that this, as well as most IR devices can be easily tripped by strong wind. In a protected location or inside, they are great. If you find it too sensitive, blind it by putting black electrical tape on part of the "eye". It stands up well to rainy weather, if you are really fussy, rplace the small screws with stainless-- JoeD

As you describe the infa red alarm PIR5, you say you are not sure how weather proof it is. I have had two of these same units for years and had no problem with Maryland's rain and humidity. I mean the sensor module not the chime. They do false alarm with high winds.
