Replacement fan for Fujitsu Lifebook C-2220
I used this to replace the noisy, dying stock CPU fan on my 3½ year old Fujitsu Lifebook C-2220. This fan is smaller than the stock fan, so I just taped it in place. The header is bigger than the one on the notebook's motherboard, so be sure to replace that too. After putting everything together, the fan works well and runs very quietly.

Good for a USB powered Notebook Cooler
I used these fans to build a laptop cooler. Unlike commercial laptop coolers, where the fans don't line up with the air intake of the computer, the coolers I built match the laptop's vents.
I used a 1/4" thick sheet of clear plastic (Tap Plastics) cut to the size of the notebook ($4). I drilled a 1.5" hole in the plastic, for the fan, using a metal hole saw--be careful, as well as mounting holes (use 4-40 nuts and bolts). Complete the project with rubber bumpers (CAT# RF-615) for the bottom of the plastic.
You need thin fans for this application, and 5 VDC fans with these dimensions are rare.
The fan wires are soldered to half of a A-A USB cable, with appropriate heat shrink tubing.
Ignore the orange tachometer lead.
These fans run only in one direction, you cannot reverse the direction by reversing + and -.
They have a side exhaust port so you can block one of the sides and still get airflow out the side (they appear to be system fans for notebook computers). You can see the arrow indicating air-flow direction in the larger picture.
