BLACK PLASTIC CASE, 4.7" X 2.6" X 1.55"

This Hammond project box is the ideal size for building your own 3-knob guitar effects using the schematics and PCB layouts you can find on the net. Using this size case so far I have built a TS-808 Tube Screamer, a 3-knob "boutique" version of the AMZ mini booster, and a Marshall Bluesbreaker in this size Hammond case and they all fit perfectly. Plenty of room for the standard 3 knobs, in & out guitar jacks, a 9V battery, LED and 3PDT toggle switch for building true bypass. A Nice looking box, made of ABS plastic, semi gloss but not too shiny, easy to drill, has that "Hammond quality" look and feel and a good price. The lids fit perfectly on these. The inside of the case case has ribs all along the inside to mount PC boards on it but I just use them as measuring aids to help mark where to drill holes in the case. If you do a nice job these look every bit as good as the "boutique" pedals that cost $150-$300 and more. In fact some of the very pricy boutique pedals use this same case. These project boxes do not look like your cheap ratshack special at all.

Guys, these ABS boxes are much easer to machine than the all aluminum 1590B and 1590BB cases, and for 1/3 the price. Another thing to keep in mind is these boxes are 4/10" taller than the 1590BB and that extra real estate give you a more flexibility for example you can mount the board under the guitar jacks and there is room to do so. If you use shielded cable there is no hum.

They take paint nicely too but the basic black is also fine. I wish they would carry the larger Hammond cases too. Definitely worth the $4 though.
