SOLDER SUCKER

Bought this ingenious device about 2 years ago, and it still amazes me! I find it works great with a lower-wattage soldering iron, like a 20W, so that I can better preserve the tip of the solder sucker (though the tip is extremely heat resistant, it still can melt over time). When using this, it becomes second nature to keep cocking the spring barrel and pressing the release the button. So when you are done using it, always remember not to store it with the spring under tension, or it risks losing its force. Also, it is well-designed so that every time you cock the spring, it cleans the barrel out and discharges the dried up solder (I have rarely ever had to unscrew the tip to clean mine, and I use this thing a lot). I am now purchasing a second so that if by chance one should actually get too full of solder, I can reach for another without stopping working. I can't say enough good things about this product. It handles great and thoroughly kicks the butt of that clumsy little red squeeze bulb sold at Radio Shack!

Does a great job. The internal spring is a little bit of a pain to clean, but unlike my much more expensive Soldapullt, this one can go a very long time between cleaning. Apogee Kits sells a replacement tip, #BITVTD5.

Just got this item in the mail today and it works great the first time and doesnt need to be reused over and over on the same part. Cleans easily, cant beat it for the price.

I have gotten this item 2 months ago and its worked flawlessly.......

CAT# SSR-1 is another item that has a great review but I can't compare the units at I have not purchased that one yet...I will next just to see how it works.......

This pump looks and works great the tip may melt a little but for $5 you can just order another if you cant find a tip for it.......
Cleaning is easy, just unscrew all the parts and brush them off with your eye protection on.

The only thing I don't like is you cant turn it around and reset it with one hand as the plastic on one side stays in place.

Other than that its yet another great product and an awesome price.
