this actually works - and fairly simple to install
for the price I figured why not try it out, if it didn't work I was only out $15. I am glad I got this. Installation was actually a breeze. Climb under your back bumper and see if you can reach the inside of the bumper cover. If you can, then you clean it with the alcohol wipe (included!), then begin to unroll and stick the "antenna" to the inside of bumper (or outside if you cannot access the inside). One wire connects to the "antenna." Route this wire through an existing hole in your trunk or drill a hole carefully. Then look at your reverse lights - there should be two wires - one + and one -. Test them if you cannot tell which is which. Tap into them and your wiring is complete. Then just find a place for the beeper. I removed the back seat and ran the beeper inside the vehicle cabin, but I think you could probably leave it in the trunk and still hear it. The final test was having one of my sons run up to and away from the bumper. Each time he approached the thing beeped - more steady the closer he got. I really didn't think it would work so well. It's actually a little too sensitive (it picks up the curb and other less than dangerous objects). I would recommend this product as a bargain backup alarm, even if it is a bit too sensitive.
