works great for dimming AC
Dimming AC power is not a trivial task. This item makes it easy, and up to 500W too. I like to have a "breathing" dimming on/off motion to my xmas lights and have tinkered with many kits over the years. With this, I popped the top off to reveal a slider pot that controls the dimming from off to full bright with many gradations in between. I automated the dimming by attaching a small worm-gear motor linked to a mechanical linear actuator I made, to slide the pot on the dimmer up and back. It works great.
