Trail Markers
I hike long distances over lava flows in Hawaii and sometimes get back in the dark. Since the area is wide open, I use the flashers as markers about every 1/4 mile to make it easier to get back to my car. It's a lot easier than fumbling around with the gps and compass in the dark. I set the flashers on in the morning when heading out and they are still flashing brightly on the way back about 15 hours later. So far I have used them twice on the same batteries and they are still bright.

Nice, bright and cheap!
Great for joggers / dog walkers, Very bright seems well built and the various paterns are cool - some are slower (and I assume conserves the batteries), there is a constant on, a rapid very attention getting flashing.
Buying 3 more now!(one for the wife and each pooch for our evening walks)
