ULTRABRIGHT LED KEYCHAIN LIGHT W/SWITCH

Bright and small. It doesn't add much to your keychain, but its there when you need it. Convenient switch for when you need more than a few seconds of light.

I opened one up via the four small phillips head screws. The design is simple but functional. There were two CR2016 Lithium cells (3v) stacked in series and the LED. There was no current limiting resistor. Usually these white LED's are rated at around 3.5 V and 30 mA maximum. I measured 90 mA, dropping to 70 mA within about 30 seconds. The LED is probably overdriven to put out more light. If the LED were to blow out, it would be easy to replace. You could probably put in a green, blue, or UV LED in place of the white one.

I have purchased several of these and they are great to put on your key chain. I use mine all the time and since my keys are always with me so is a handy little light. Great for small survival packs. will take the other users comments and change out the battery when one fails. A blinking red led would be cool to have when out in the country.

For a brighter light and a longer battery life,
replace the LED with a red superbright LED-94, and
replace the two CR2016 lithium cells with a
single CR2032 lithium cell.
