beware of low voltages!
When I ordered 96 (8 boxes of 12) of these to get the quantity price, more than half of them read voltages below 7V, and several below 3V. I assume this is because these are really old batteries. So, the price is no bargain if you have to discard more than half of them! Editors Note: These are NEW from the manufacturer and if you have a voltage problem within 30 days of purchase we will replace them.

Good for high gain devices
The price was fantastic, so I figured hope it lasts one hour or so. Boy, was I wrong! You just can not expect better for 85 cents. Also, alkaline batteries kinda gives cheesy feeling and a little deformation (only detectable with osc.) when using with high gain opamp based circuits. Hence, carbon zinc is the only reliable option left.
