D CELL, HEAVY-DUTY CARBON ZINC

HD C-Zn cells are much farther along the tech. road than their forebears. The chemistry is changed, with a new electrolyte of ZnCl, rather than the old corrosive acidic type, making them longer-lasting and more reliable. These Universal brand cells have pleased me, and I'll probably stick with them as long as I can get them. Note that the date of mfgr. is not long off with these; they're relatively fresh off the line; if not, A/E would have said so,(like BAT-4PK)
