Good laser at a Great price
I bought one of these last year and it's still going strong. Very bright, especially for the money (similar pointers from other resellers go for twice or more this price).
Personally, I haven't experienced any issues with dimming over time.

A bit dissapointing
The laser sure is bright . . . for the first minute and a half. Then it dims down a LOT and shuts off after another 30 seconds. This is with the original Alkaline batteries. The laser feels slightly warm after a few minutes. If you leave it off for a few minutes you can get another 1.5 minutes use.
My cat likes the green better than the red and chases it even after it dims down.
WARNING! DO NOT EVER SHINE A LASER IN YOUR CAT'S EYE - AR ANYONE ELSE'S EYE! I had a friend who took a laser in the eye for a fraction of a second and he had blinding headaches for days and spots in his eye for weeks. He was lucky.
