PROJECT BOX W/MOUNTING FLANGE, 3.6" X 1.5" X 1.2"

I had to take detailed measurements of this enclosure for a project I'm working on, so I thought I'd share:

This is a nice little snap-together black plastic case. It closes very firmly, and requires some prying to open again. Probably not suitable for a project that you need to open frequently, such as to replace a battery, but you can get in if you need to.

Everything about the box is centered and symmetrical as you would expect. The wall thickness is approx 0.09". For the discussion below, "Face" refers to the smooth surface away from the mounting ears, and "Back" refers to the snap-in panel opposite the face. "Length" is the long dimension (ear-to-ear), "Depth" is face-to-back, and width is the smaller side-to-side dimension.

####### OUTSIDE: The size, excluding mounting ears, is 3.5625" long x 1.5" wide x 1.25" deep. Including the ears, the length is 4.29". Each mounting ear sticks out 0.365", is 0.8" wide where it connects to the box, and is about 0.1" thick. The holes are 0.197" dia and are on 3.925" centers.

####### FACE: The face of the box has a slightly recessed smooth area that measures 3.125" x 1.0625" with rounded corners with about a 0.125" radius. This is obviously the face to mount controls/LEDs, and the recessed area is ideal for an adhesive label.

####### INSIDE: There are 6 support guides that limit the internal volume to 3.24" long x 1.173" wide x 1.139" deep. You can get just a tad more length and width if you shave these guides off. The guides provide a nest that neatly fits a 3.32" x 1.25" PCB (0.062") against the back with 0.075" clearance for leads and solder.

####### OPENING: There is a single rectangular opening centered on the long side. It is 0.425" long x 0.25" tall. The back edge of the opening is perfectly aligned with component-side of the PCB, which makes the slot ideal for right-angle connectors.
