Work Project
I am using this for a work project.
You can buy little programmable timers from the net costing in the hundreds, but if you need something simple and dirt cheap you cant go wrong with this guy.
Set the timer and it will shut off after 2 hours from start time.
Turn it on manually and it again shuts off after 2 hours.
Just what i needed, I turn it on manually.

Fringe benfit:
The heater will be partly warmed when you start the car.

On-timer question.
Can this be modded as an shut-off timer? Where you enter the time and it begins counting down?

Sweet timer but tricky to mount
This is a great timer, about as compact as the human interface allows. The face plate is 1-3/4" wide by 2-7/16" high. If you leave the transformer attached as it comes, you'll need a space 1-15/16" behind your panel. However, it appears to have been made to follow the contours of a sculpted panel, so its faceplate is not flat. You'll find yourself doing some non-trivial mods to mount it in a project box. They're cheap. Buy two and experiment.

Furnace Timer
Our scene shop has an old gas furnace with a cheap thermostat and it takes about an hour or so to warm the place up in the winter. This little gem is a utility saver! We set the start time the night before so the furnace comes on and warms the place up for an hour before anyone comes in. If we can't make it or forget to turn it off, it shuts down the heat for the night and saves our utility bill!
