simple circuit
all it is a light sensor that activates a timer circuit that activates a relay for a set period of time any phone that lights up will work with it including land line phones neat item to basic for my taste though

Any phone with a backlight should work
Quote from the instruction manual: "This kit is activated when the backlight of a cellular phone comes on with an incoming call. The backlight needs to remain lit continuously (i.e. it shouldn't flash) while the cellular is ringing. ... To operate this kit, you need an enclosure or location that is completely sealed off to daylight."

Backlight sensor
After reading the assembly instructions from the site listed in the previous comment it appear this device senses the screen light during a phone ring to a cell phone. Not sure why it is GSM only - I would imagine that any cell phone with a light-up screen would do the trick but I have not bought or tested this product to confirm.

Why GSM only?
