Piezo Audio Alerts produce a high-pitched beep-tone that can be relatively quiet or extremely loud. They have built in oscillator to produce a tone, so all that is required is a voltage source. Similar to electro-magnetic or mechanical buzzers or beepers, but they use a piezo-electric element as their vibrating material.
