A thermoelectric cooler (TEC) or Peltier device is a solid-state heat pump that transfers heat from one side of the device to the other depending on the direction of the current. When current is applied one side gets hot and the other gets cool. It is commonly used to cool, heat or regulate temperature. It can also take advantage of a temperature differential to generate electricity.
