AC-DC wall adapters aka "wall warts" are power supplies that convert 120Vac (or 220Vac) to a lower DC voltage. Many electronic devices in homes and businesses are powered by this type of power supply. You should determine if you want a regulated or unregulated supply. We generally refer to unregulated supplies as "wall adapters." We refer to regulated supplies as "power supplies."
Unregulated Wall Adapters -- the output voltage is generally higher when the load is lower than the adapter is designed for, so it is a good idea to get an AC-DC wall adapter that operates close to the desired current.
A Regulated Power Supply will maintain the correct voltage as long as the maximum rated load is not exceeded. If you are not sure what current rating you require, a regulated power supply is a good choice.
If the output plug on the Wall Adapter or Power Supply is a coax plug, but not the correct size for your application, see our selection of DC Coax Plug Adapters.
