wire is wire - sometimes the difference is just in the packaging. I ordered a half dozen rolls of htis hook up wire and it must have had 50 feet of plastic wrapped around it. It was difficult to get to the actual wire product.
The other gripe is that there is no label that says in english which gauge and if it is solid or stranded. So if you have a dozen rolls of hookup wire around (18 ga; 22 ga; solid; stranded) you need to label them yourself. EDITOR NOTE: All the hook-up wires are stranded and contain labels on the end of the spool.
It strips and holds up to heat as good as any PVC Wire I have used.
It took 60/40 solder (Tinned) Well unlike a lot of the cheap wire, you know the stuff that takes loads of flux and heat to tin.
I did have some insulation withdraw (up to 20% of original strip length) if I left a 550° F Iron on it for 10 seconds, but this is common with PVC insulation and I have seen much worse.
I have been spoiled by using 200°C wire at work but it’s very pricey this will do nicely for me at home!
It is well labeled both on the Wire itself and the spool.
