I started a project that involved over 1000 solder joints and wire wrap posts (22 gauge solid for wire warp; 18 gauge stranded for soldering) which required several hundred feet of wire. When I started I had wire from several different sources. I quickly realized that the 'consolidated' (manufacturer) wire from All Electronics was the best in terms of the quality of the insulation, ease of stripping, ease of wetting and consistency of tension when wire wrapping (22 gauge solid).
