Not sure if the ‘Oxygen Free Copper’ had anything to do with it, but the exposed ends, when not tinned with solder deteriorated completely to a white power. Half way through the summer I had to strip back several inches to get good, clean, shiny Copper to connect to my speakers. OTW the black jacket works great to protect the two inner wires.
Note: Wires were to outdoor speakers, mounted 16” above the floor on a pontoon boat restoration. So it was a damp environment at times. Same wire was used for the horn below the deck, which the wire disintegrated from the crimp blade connectors. Probably OK if ends were used inside where humidity is more moderate and stable.
