Others say this is very stiff. Okay, that's true! But it's very durable. For my applications, stiff and durable have worked out great. It has a nice heft to it without being difficult to work with. I've used it with a few different stereo 3.5mm connectors, and the extra heft really locks it into place mechanically, reducing strain on the soldered connections.
For me I use it mostly with audio, but 3-conductor means I have the option of balanced audio signal, plus power, plus shielding ground. The shielding cuts down a bit on interference from my Ham work (I'm at the bottom of a radio well in a big city with a yagi inside a 2-bedroom apt. Every little bit helps!!).
So yeah, stiff, but works great! Easy to strip, solder. The stiffness makes it not-so-great for thing like headphones or stuff that gets re-positioned a lot. But it's 5-start for permanent or semi-permanent stuff. If you're running audio next to your power or twisted pair network runs, this will serve you very well.
Especially at this price, I love it!
I love this cable. I've used it primarily as audio cabling, ensuring complete case-grounded shielding from my many and varied RF transmission sources (think amateur radio). This is very good quality cable, and is easy to work with.
I buy this wire all the time, hove gotten well over 100' from them allready and thats because its a great wire for its price.....
i have a drumset thats triggered so i use these to make the custom length chords, i also use the 2 and 3 conductor straight 1/4" phone ends.....
anyays the shielding is also great on them......
Buy it, you cant go wrong at the price.
