PROs: Nice little meter w/ easy to read back-lit display. It stores the Battery/Voltage Type so the meter can be switched off when not being used. Paired up with a 1551-KBK BLACK ABS BOX, 3.15" X 1.57" X 0.8" plastic enclosure and some Black/Red Test Leads it makes a great little portable monitor. Just don't forget to set the battery/Voltage type at power up.
CONs: The only drawback is that it takes the monitor 3-5 seconds to stabilize on a reading. But for the price who cares!
The instruction sheet has modes for lead acid batteries (P) and Lithium Ion cells (C). The meter actually has a third mode (F) for Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries. I discovered this by experiment as I was using a lithium Iron Phosphate battery. It works great!
Mounted this in the back window of a modified New Bright Hummer, which has a 12V 4AH SLA battery running it. It came up for 12V as soon as It saw power. Perfect for this application!
It works but the data sheet is not totally correct. Another reviewer talks
about a 3rd choice for programing, (F) which Im going to try with my lithium iron phosphate battery. Just tried on 1F & seems to work. If anyone
knows what the F section is please respond.
