The most common failure for my robotics students is shorting out (melting down) their 7.2v 2500 mAh plastic battery box. This little device has eliminated this problem.
When using clip jumpers to temporarily wire up a test circuit, putting one of these self-resetting protectors in-line in the positive power supply lead can save the power supply and prevent melting the clip jumper if a short circuit occurs.
