I had no problem with the voltage control. Connected to a 12v supply this unit would consistently and in a repeatable manner, lower the voltage in a range from 13.8v to 0v.
I did find, however, that the unit needed a slightly higher amperage to work properly.
I am not using this on a string of LEDs. I am using it on a DIY telescope dew heater made of Nichrome wire.
For this price I couldn't build a PWM power controller this good. The case is very sturdy and the control feel is very nice.
Overall.....I recommend this. At least for what I have used it for. LEDs....I can't say.
The dimmer goes from bright to very bright. Not quite the range I would have liked. The voltage ranged from 12.5V to 11.9V.
The seductive OFF indicator does not turn the lights off. The range marker is also off as the pot turns 90 degrees beyond the alleged full point.
This is sturdily constructed and has a handy connector that can be removed from the 'dimmer' for easy work. It uses screw clamps on the wires. With a replacement pot this would be a 5 star.
