This gives the uninformed an easy way to cause serious damage to wiring, and even set it on fire! Hot lines, that supply the fuse block, are usually over spec'ed, so that might be a saving grace, but it would be easy to cause a situation where more current is drawn than the hot wire can handle! And, in that case, there is no fuse to save the wire [unless there's a fusable link, or such, in there somewhere]! It will melt, and insulation, or grease, etc, might even catch fire, and I probably don't need to tell you how much [usually expensive] damage that can cause. And, it can also lead to serious injury and even death!
So, ONLY USE THIS IF YOU KNOW WHAT YOUR ARE DOING!
I'm surprised All Electronics provided no such warning on this product!
The gringos at my workplace hacked mercilessly under the dashboard to install extra lights and radios and GPS and such all over the display-truck of which I have exclusive use... One day six years later, after many electrical problems - the whole thing just went dead - $4500 to replace three wiring harnesses and to wire stuff more correctly. If only they had used taps like these ! - I'm mailing one to my boss.
