Considering that the sub woofer for the JBL LX44 is an 6ohm speaker, I can't imagine that this particular woofer would have work well for you.

Good for the money
I used these to replace some woofers in a set of old Marantz speakers. They do the job nicely as a set of OEM replacement woofers. Let me tell you, Marantz made some nice speakers. If you have an old set lying around, They are worth fixing up. The other speakers in my system consist of JBL, Infinity and Cerwin Vega. (All very expensive). These Marantz outperform all of them, and they were given to me for free! Anyways, back to these woofers, I rated them four stars based equally on value as well as quality. If I had spent 50.00 a piece on them, I would have rated them a 2. You get the idea.
Here is some info and specs on them,
These low frequency OEM drivers are ideal for the customer who is looking for inexpensive replacement woofers. Each woofer features a treated paper ribbed cone, vented pole piece, moisture resistant poly foam surround, and stamped steel frame.

Great Buy!
I gutted my old two-way Ampex speaker boxes and used these with the GT-322 tweeters. They are a little stiff and sterile sounding at first. Give them some time to break in, after which they warm up and give better bass extension. They also like more cabinet volume for those lows.

In general, I felt they have good detail and are fairly flat in frequency response (there is a slight bump in the 1K range). I would buy them again for qualty budget applications.

Studio monitor replacements
I got these as temporary replacements while a set of my JBL's were getting reconed. I have four JBL LX44's as use for referance monitors. I do have the JBL's back from repair still in boxes, these little 8" sound fine and respond well to low to medium input. High input is fine with a slight bass cut. To sum up everything, you can't go wrong with them. Cost is great and the quality is there. For the cost of one JBL, I got four of these! Can't beat that
