I model N scale railroads, and a lot of the parts are extremely small. I picked this up at All Electronics' store in Van Nuys. Before I used this I used to out-cuss a sailor when working with these parts. Nowadays, my mouth is more clean :)

As far as I can tell, this is exactly the same tool they sell at my local hobby shop for $17. It just doesn't have a brand name on it. I am very pleased.

Perfect for the price

The base could be a little heavier, but for the price, you really can't beat this helping hand. The clips are strong and bite hard so you don't have to worry about it letting go of your PCB or what-have-you.

Handy little assisstant

I used to use these while assembling power supplies. Its great for when you need a third (or fourth) hand.
Its steady, and a weighted bottom keeps the center of gravity low so it won't top over easily.
Great for soldering projects.
Only drawback is the clips are conductive, be careful of those capacitors!
