This Switch acts like a SPDT 4 out of 5 stars

Reviewer: from WAUKEGAN, IL US

This is a nice switch with all outward appearances, nice physical size with a 20 Amp rating and the switch handle is handsomely contoured with a very bright LED on the "ON" side. If you need to dull down the LED you need to put a 3300 - 4000 ohm resister on the NEG side. That should tame it down a bit.

Finding this switch at All Electronics Corp I purchased some with the intent to use it with a continuous LED. Not Possible!!!
-
When I turned the switch off, I get a solid short across the middle connection and the LED ground. Close the switch and the led will light.
( This was tested on a couple switches with the same results )

This tells me that the Switch is not a SPST but a SPDT. I looked inside and it looks like a SPDT also. This translates to only being able to have the LED on when the switch is powered on, or LED on only when the switch is off, your choice but LED on always, NOT AN OPTION.

This tid bit of information might have been missed by the AEC crew or they just did'nt test it enough. But strictly speaking for the switch, if you want something that looks really good, easy to install, has a high (20 Amp) rating and has an LED to light for indication, this is really a nice switch.

OK boys, this is what I thought I found in my testing, if you think I errored, prove me wrong.

How bright is bright enough?

Reviewer: from FAYETTEVILLE, AR US

This switch rocks at 12V DC. It really is too bright. I suggest you add a resistor to keep the small LED output in a reasonable range.
