Solid copper wire with a very thin insulating layer. Used in applications such as winding electric motor coils, speakers and transformers. Also used in the construction of electromagnets and inductors. 497 ft.
Appears to be good wire, but insulation might be a problem.

There are several different types of insulation coating on this type of wire. The insulation on this wire is the kind that does not solder easily. Even with the temperature set >900 degrees on the iron it would not break down the insulation. This wire is not suited for soldering applications -Editors Note: This is enamel coated (insulated) copper wire. Without the insulation this wire would be useless. Usually when you want to solder this wire, you would scrape the insulation off with a blade of some kind prior to soldering.
