Broke both the clamps I bought on first use. Thin and brittle plastic. Beware of clamping anything beyond about half their "wide open" jaw width. They'll shatter and pieces go flying everywhere.
These are pretty nice little clamps. Fairly strong grip. Nylon *waffle pattern* jaws shouldn't scratch surfaces or allow glue to stick too badly, but might crush soft balsa. They have a v-groove running towards the clamp body for gripping round objects. Max opening 1 1/8" wide x 1 3/8" deep.
I was ordering something else, but happened across this listing while seeing if there was 'anything else' I might want, and thought, you couldn't go wrong for the price, so what the heck? But as soon as I got them home, I immediately found all sorts of uses for them. I've used them to hold a small flashlight at a particular angle, to hold down a wayward soldering iron cable while I worked, even to hold a potato chip bag closed! The grip is just hard enough to really hold without causing any damage.
Throw a few into your order and leave them hanging on your tool wall. You won't regret it!
