Nice assembly for DIY projects. 5 out of 5 stars

Reviewer: from Bay Area, CA

Header pins are not labeled so I ohmed between them to find the connection scheme. For point of reference, let's call the pins "1" through "5" from top to bottom when holding the slider vertically.

"1" is an input and "5" its wiper (output) for one channel.

"2" is input and "4" its wiper for the other channel.

"3" is common ground.

The two channels track close in my sample, with 41.7k at full attenuation on one and 42.8k on the other. That's roughly 2.5% interchannel deviation -- not bad compared to typical rotating versions of dual-ganged pots in my experience. Deviation decreases at lesser attenuation settings until they're identical at "10."

Though a bit shy of true 50K, it's within industry standard tolerance of 20% for these devices.

Slide travel is 45mm. Action is fairly smooth, with enough stiction for precise adjustment without overshooting.

PCB connections on this slider were modded at the factory. Traces are cut between pins "1" and "2" and their corresponding soldering pads at top of PCB. Jumpers are installed reversing connections between them. Look closely at the PCB view image to see green Jumpers at the top half. Tiny trace cuts are barely visible near the pin header. Whether due to manufacturing error correction or design update, the item seems to be well constructed and works as it should.

You can find a bare slider of this specification elsewhere for about the same price. But NOT with a nice aluminum mounting plate and stylish knob included. That's what makes this an exceptional deal.
