I use them as jumper pins on pc boards. Sometimes I use them on new pc boards, to "stack them" (multilayers)!
I also make cables with micro-clips or alligator
clips on one side,and solder two pins to the cable (small pin side). I use the two pins to connector to breadboards. Many, many uses!

That's what I use them for. Not only are they gold plated, but they are very easy to bend-and-snap to any size needed (up to 40 pins, of course). If you are designing a PCB, check out the "locking" technique at Spark Fun [http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/tutorial_info.php?tutorials_id=114] (makes soldering them to the board far easier!)
